Andover Choral Society is proud to announce that the recording of the chorus’s world premiere performance in May 2019 of Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight by Florence Price has been selected as a finalist in a prestigious national competition.
These are difficult and challenging times for our community and our nation. The catastrophic impact of COVID-19, compounded by the murder of George Floyd and the resulting mass protests, violence, and division in our country, has many of us feeling overwhelmed, saddened, angry, and fearful.
Members of the Andover Choral Society recently participated in an international online sing-along of Johannes Brahms’ A German Requiem hosted by the Berlin Radio Choir and Interkultur, the world’s leading organizer of international choir competitions and festivals.
Andover Choral Society has made the very difficult decision to cancel our May 2, 2020, choral concert due to coronavirus concerns. We have suspended rehearsals for the safety of our chorus members and in compliance with state and federal guidance, and therefore will not have the performance material properly prepared by May.

The Andover Choral Society, directed by Michael Driscoll, will open its 90th season with a performance of Franz Joseph Haydn’s “The Creation” on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m., at West Middle School Auditorium, 70 Shawsheen Road, Andover.
A 75-voice-strong local chorus whose members represent 34 towns from Andover to Atkinson and Tewksbury to Topsfield is celebrating its 90th anniversary next year. The Andover Choral group already is rehearsing for its traditional two concerts that will be held in January and May next year.
